Happy Halloween!

Today marks Alex's first Halloween, and I thought I would share a few photos of him in his costume, as well as his trip to the pumpkin patch...

Here is my little spider, all ready to go!

It's hard to be scared of this spider....

Nestled among the pumpkins...

Trying very hard to get that stem into his mouth!

Playing with his "Alex" sized pumpkin, while Mom and Dad carved theirs...

Our pumpkins..If you can't read mine, it says "Boo!"

Dan took Alex to our neighbors to show him off...I told him that Alex did not need candy, but they gave him a Kit Kat anyways..We let him chew on it with the wrapper on (no need for him to like chocolate yet!), but when Dan tried to take it away he got a *little* upset...Guess he already has Mom and Dad's sweet tooth!

I couldn't resist adding this one...Alex seems to hit a bunch of developmental milestones at once, and never one at a time...This time around, he can sit up by himself and....

He can also now turn from his back to his stomach, which, for the last 3 or 4 nights, is how we find him when he wakes up. usually, he rolls around trying to put himself back to sleep and is able to, but now when he rolls over half asleep he can't get himself back onto his back...We end up having to come in and turn him over. It's actually starting to be a pain--he does it about 2 or 3 times a night!

Happy five months Alex!

Alex is officially five months old now! Time has really been flying, and I can't believe I have to be back to work in just another short 5 months...As per my last post, Alex is now 16 lbs, 12oz and 25 inches long..He has been a real porker this last month, eating everything in sight. We started solids just after his 4 month birthday after getting it cleared with the doctor, and his current repetoire includes rice cereal, peas and green beans. We tried oatmeal, but Alex does not like it (he gags, then spits it back out with sounds and everything!), and we also tried butternut squash, but Alex got a very bad facial rash and his left ear swelled up a bit, so I'm guessing he's allergic (we are going to the doctor today to find out).

Alex has also discovered how to move himself around in his crib, which is a bit frightening...3 days ago, Alex moved himself so that his feet were up against the railing of his crib and proceeded to kick the railing, keep Dan up for quite some time that night (Dan thought it was someone outside, not Alex). Since then, we always find Alex in a different position than what we put him. Alex has also learned that he has feet, and is constantly trying to put them in his mouth. If he is in his Jolly Jumper, he keeps picking his feet up to try and look at them.. It's pretty cute actually.

The only other thing to report is that this last weekend Alex has found his voice....It isn't the cute little cooing and squealing voice he had before...He is just loud and constant, and sounds like he's constipated most of the time ;) He is really trying to get a "br" sound out, and I told Dan that if we still had Bru (my old dog), I would think that Alex is trying to say his name. We think he has even said "Nana" a couple times, but we are not sure. As always, we have some pics for you all to enjoy.. they are quite funny some of them, so... Enjoy!!!

"My spoon is too big!!!" We had to do this...Memories of Mike and ike's Sick and Twisted came into mind when we gave Alex this spoon...I know we're weird...

This is our experience with peas..Alex is not a delicate eater...The food goes EVERYWHERE. And I mean everywhere.

Of course Ruby has to help with clean up..

This happened last night.. We had to put mittens and a hat on Alex to stop him from scratching at his face and ear..He woke up around 830 crying, and we let him be. He got quiet again, and after about 30 minutes we went in to check and make sure he was ok...This was how he fell back asleep! It was the cutest thing ever!

Random thoughts for the day....

1.Having children was the best thing I ever did.
2.I am so glad Dan FINALLY mowed the lawn...We were starting to look like a crack house.
3.Surprised Alex likes peas.
4.Currently in wonder at the miracle of life. I so can't wait to have another baby.
5.The kitchen floor really needs to be mopped again.
6.I don't want to go out to the passport office AGAIN (although I have to).
7.I really should go to bed.
8. People who can't drive shouldn't drive the Hope-Princeton. I will now fear for my life every time I go up to see my Dad.
9. My car needs to be washed.
10. I'm thankful for Dan and all he does for me (even though I sometimes complain).
11. Alex is his cutest and I love him the most when he is sleeping ;)
12. I really need to stick to my diet. I have a funny feeling I'll find 20lbs by Christmas instead of losing it.
13. Alex now weighs 16lbs 12oz. He's been such a pig this last month.
14. Gotta start Christmas shopping, gotta stick to a budget.
15. I really need to go to bed.

Sears Pictures

Here are the Sears pictures we had done of Alex when he was 2 months old....They cost a fortune, and so I was bad a rescanned them onto disc. I have a *small* problem paying 19.99 per sheet.
